CSIRO National Marine Debris Project

Researchers from CSIRO have been running several large projects on plastic pollution in our oceans over the last few years.
They are working to understand a wide range of topics, from why fishing gear is lost in Indonesia to which areas in Australia have the most debris lost in the ocean.
While not obvious to the casual observer, the amount of plastic in the ocean is increasing rapidly and there is potential for global scale impacts.
The two leaders of this effort, Chris Wilcox and Denise Hardesty, will present their research and answer your questions.
Come along to this free event and learn about their work!
