ENTER THE CAVE EXHIBITION and LAUNCH EVENT

The Enter the Cave Exhibition is one of a suite of projects under Bookend’s SIXTEEN LEGS program, investigating the world of Tasmanian caves and the secrets that they hide.

The exhibition is a science outreach collaboration with Tasmanian school students and artists, combining a scientific exploration of the world of Tasmanian caves with artworks  this information.

There is also a giant surprise at the heart of the exhibition…

This display relates the story of decades of scientific research into Tasmanian cave biology, recently showcased as one of only seven international science and natural history stories to be presented in front of global media experts in Europe. The launch will also celebrate Australian Government funding to expand the reach of Bookend’s work across Australia, as well as launching this year’s Expedition Class project, which is being run by Bookend’s education officer – and 2013 Tasmanian of the Year – Andrew Hughes.

The exhibition will be free to the public from Saturday 16 August to Sunday 24 August at the Rosny Barn, in collaboration between the Bookend Trust and the Clarence City Council.

The launch is Friday 15 August at 5pm, at the Rosny Barn.
