Exhibition: Women Scientists we Admire

On 11 February, honouring the second year of the United Nations International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the University of Tasmania invited all staff and students to participate in an image competition to contribute to raising awareness about the critical role that women and girls play in science and technology communities. Participants were asked to send a picture of a woman scientist they have been inspired by, along with a short description on her major scientific endeavours.
All entries received told wonderful stories, and have now been gathered in a curated display at the Morris Miller Library. The exhibition will be launched on the 8 March and will remain open to visitors until the 10 April 2017.  The winner of the competition will be announced at the exhibition opening.
Exhibition opening: Wednesday 8 March, 4.30-5.30pm
Exhibition opening speaker:  Professor Anthony Koutoulis, Academic Co-lead of the Athena SWAN program
Exhibition dates:  Wednesday 8 March to Monday 10 April
