Many people remember the tragic losses of the shuttles Columbia and Challenger, older members of the community may remember the tragic loss of the three astronauts of Apollo 1. While these flights rightly deserve our attention and respect there are a number of other missions which ended in failure or near failure for their flight crews. In many instances only quick thinking averted disaster. This program looks at some of these flights and tells the story behind some of the least known accidents in manned spaceflight.
