Science Teachers Association of Tasmania (STAT) is offering a day of Professional Learning for Secondary and College Science & Physics teachers.

Keynote Speaker: Paul Carnemolla
Paul Carnemolla is a teacher of science and senior physics and a former President of the Australian Science Teachers Association. He has held a number of leadership positions in schools including Head of Curriculum. Paul currently works as a Senior Strategic consultant for Combined Management Consultants.
Paul will share his ideas about ways to address misconceptions in physics. His approach makes more efficient use of available time and frees up class time for tasks of greater cognitive demand.
Paul will demonstrate the techniques he has used in his physics classroom to make better use of both time and space using a variety of research-based strategies to address commonly held misconceptions in Physics.
Workshop Program: The day will also include a selection of workshops to support Physics teaching in the Australian Curriculum for years 7/8, 9/10 and 11/12 respectively, and the day will conclude with a Forum to ascertain opportunities for further support for the delivery of quality physics education for Tasmanian students.
Trade Displays: There will be a selection of Trade Displays pertinent to Physics Teaching.
Cost: $150.00 per participant (includes morning tea and lunch) providing you register by the due date.
