What’s it like to be a polar scientist? To walk on the ice sheets of Antarctica, understand the extraordinary seasonal freeze-up and melt back of the sea ice zone, investigate the myriad organisms that inhabit the polar ocean and sea ice, and explore the abyssal depths of the Southern Ocean. Hobart has Australia’s largest community of polar and marine scientists, and for the week of 10th – 14th March 2014, we are being joined by leading international polar experts.
