Royal Society lecture: Bookending Tasmanian Education from Antarctica to Thailand

Speaker: Dr Niall Doran
The Bookend Trust is a multi-award winning philanthropic education initiative that uses multimedia and film to inspire students and assist them to build their own careers. The program uses both virtual and real-life experiences, involving on-ground student placements from the Tasmanian wilderness and Antarctica, to Lord Howe Island and Thailand. Student opportunities cover all ages, and backgrounds ranging from high achievers to regional and disadvantaged demographics. Bookend is driven by people who are prepared to put their own money into supporting the next generation, and the proceeds from its projects are directed into this cause. Bookend is currently producing documentary content on never-before-filmed natural history stories, with a few surprises about to come out of the dark…
