Stephen Harvey, President Of The Astronomical Society Of Tasmania, presents this Golden Key Seminar Series lecture.
An interactive tour of the night sky as seen from Hobart, using planetarium software and the best of NASA and European Space Agency images. The tour commences in our Solar System neighbourhood with a close up examination and discussion of the Moon, the eight planets and their moons and the minor planets. The tour will then venture into our Milky Way galaxy to explore star nurseries, nebulae, open star clusters and further afield; globular clusters and then our galactic neighbourhood.
