Young Tassie Scientists Information Session

Find out how YOU can join the Young Tassie Scientists!
The Young Tassie Scientists program brings science, engineering, maths & technology into communities in celebration of National Science Week during August. Every year a group of young STEM researchers (Honours, PhD students and early career scientists/engineers) are selected to travel throughout regional Tasmania to give interactive presentations at schools and Science Week events.
The program aims to highlight that studying science at school can lead to diverse career opportunities and showcases the range of research happening right here in Tasmania.

  • Are you a passionate young scientist? Are you a good communicator?
  • Can you inspire people with your enthusiasm for your work?
  • Would you like to develop your science communication skills?

As a Young Tassie Scientist, you’ll visit schools in towns around Tasmania on a 3-4 day trip of fun, all-expenses paid travel. You’ll give presentations in schools, community science fairs, and National Science Week events for all ages. Your profile will be on the YTS website, and you may have the opportunity to take part in media interviews.
Check out www.YoungTassieScientists.com for more information. This opportunity is open to early career science and engineering graduates and researchers (including post graduate students).
