Young Tassie Scientists Information Session

Are you a passionate young scientist?
A good communicator?
Can you inspire an audience with your sheer enthusiasm for your work?
Would you like to develop your science communication skills and increase your profile?
Come and find out how YOU can become a Young Tassie Scientist.
The Young Tassie Scientists (YTS) Program takes science out into the community in celebration of National Science Week in August.
Every year a group of young researchers and early career scientists is selected to travel to regional Tasmanian communities. The YTS give presentations about their work to school groups and at community events.
The aim of the program is to highlight how studying science at school can lead to diverse career opportunities and to showcase the range of research being undertaken in Tasmania.
As a Young Tassie Scientist, you will participate in one of three road shows which will be spread over three busy days of fun and all-expenses-paid travel, giving presentations to school groups and at community events along the way.
You will develop a written profile about yourself for publication on the YTS website, and you may have the opportunity to take part in media activities such as radio or newspaper interviews.
