  • ACTIVITY DETAILS:

    Please complete the following two sections 'Exhibitor details' and 'Workshop details' separately if you will be offering an exhibition activity AND a workshop at the festival. Otherwise please complete EITHER the 'Exhibitor details' or 'Workshop details' section appropriate to your activity.

  • Exhibitor details

  • What is the title of your Exhibitor activity? This can be the name of your organisation E.g. 'Inspiring Tasmania' or the name of your activity E.g. 'The Secret Life of Bugs'. This title will be used in the festival program and site map.
  • Please describe your activity (20 words or less). This information will be used in the festival program and to promote Festival of Bright Ideas.
  • Please provide as much detail of your activity as possible. You can update your description as your plans progress. This information is for internal use only.
  • Briefly describe the science in your activity e.g Oceanography, Chemistry, Human Biology, Astrophysics, Environmental Sustainability, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering – or any combination of scientific disciplines. This information will be forwarded to teachers prior to Schools Day to assist them to prepare their students for their visit.
  • DURATION AND ATTENDEES SCHOOLS DAY ACTIVITIES (FRI 9th)
    *10 minute presentations*
    We ask activity providers to be prepared to present to small groups of school children (between 5 and 10 participants) for 10 minute intervals. The first unscheduled session of the day will be aimed toward year 7-12 students, followed by two scheduled sessions aimed toward year 3-6 students.

    OPEN DAY ACTIVITIES (SAT 10th)
    There is no time limit for activities. Your activity can run continually, or for a set duration at specific intervals.

  • Please detail here how long your activity will run for on Saturday and if you have aimed your activity toward a particular age group?
  • Exhibition spaces will measure 3m wide x 2m deep. Please provide detail of additional space or set up requirements.

  • Each activity provider will be provided with one large festival sign that will describe the science and/or activity offered (example on the Activity Providers web page). Please provide a short description (5­-15 words) of your activity and science you are demonstrating for your sign. Keep it short and punchy!
  • Please upload a high resolution image (no logos thank you!) to accompany your activity listing on the online and printed program. We would appreciate the use of any images that you can provide to energise our promotion of the festival.

  • Workshop details

  • Please describe your workshop (20 words or less). This information will be used to in the festival program and to promote Festival of Bright Ideas.
  • Please provide as much detail of your workshop as possible. You can send us updates to your description as your plans progress. This information is for internal use only.
  • Briefly describe the science in your activity. This information will be forwarded to teachers prior to Schools Day to assist them to prepare their students for their visit.
  • SCHOOLS DAY WORKSHOPS (FRI 9th): Workshops will run for a set duration of approximately 30 minutes and cater for one class group of between 20 - 30 students. The first unscheduled session of the day will be aimed toward year 7-12 students, followed by two scheduled sessions aimed toward year 3-6 students.
